THE POLICE OPERATION WAS PERFORMED

Following the identification of hidden houses, a simultaneous operation was carried out by police teams in Edremit district on August 28. A total of 61 Syrians, 4 of them children and 16 of them women, who were brought to the city illegally to be taken to the Greek islands, were captured in the operation. 5 People who were found to be organizing migrant smuggling activities, providing opportunities and taking part in the organization were also arrested and detained. While the captured irregular migrants were handed over to the Provincial Migration Administration, it was stated that the investigation into the incident was ongoing.

23 THOUSAND 896 PEOPLE TRIED TO FLEE ABROAD ILLEGALLY IN 8 MONTHS OF 2023

According to the information on the website of the Turkish Coast Guard Command, in the first 8 months of this year, 23 thousand 896 people tried to go abroad illegally in 864 irregular migration incidents throughout the country.
