THOSE WHO HAVE A DRIVER’S LICENSE BEFORE 2016, PAY ATTENTION! TO BE CANCELLED

So when is the deadline for renewing driver’s licenses? Here are the details…

Previously, the replacement process had been extended for those who had a driver’s licenseissued before December 31, 2016. The Ministry of Interior General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs stated that the period granted for the exchange of old-type driving licenses issued before January 1, 2016 has been extended for another 2 years from December 31, 2022.

In a statement made by the T.C. General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs, “Temporary Article 10 of the Highway Traffic Regulation, which entered into force on January 1, 2016, ‘The replacement of driver’s licenses issued before the date of entry into force of this article and which must be changed in accordance with Law No. 2918, are completed within 5 years. If necessary, this period may be extended by the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ provision.

In order to reduce the density of our population directorates and to prevent our citizens from applying due to the pandemic in our country and in the world between 2020-2022, the period for replacing the old type of driver’s licenses issued before January 1, 2016 has been extended by Ministry for 2 years from December 31, 2022,” it was said.

The period for replacing the old type of driving licenses obtained before the deadline has been extended for another 2 years as of December 31, 2022. According to this, drivers who are currently driving with old-type driver’s licenses will be able to change their driver’s licenses until December 31, 2024.

On the other hand, the age of obtaining a driver’s license is being changed. An important news has come to those who are waiting for the age limit to get a driver’s license. The changes aim to make the driver’s license purchase process more accessible while also making positive contributions to traffic safety. There has been a gratifying development for candidates who want to get a class D driver’s license. With the new regulation, the age limit applied for a class D driver’s license has been reduced from 26 to 24. Thanks to this, young drivers will have the authority to drive large vehicles at an earlier age.
.

Other important changes to the decrees include lowering the age limit to 16 for M, A1 and B1 class driving licenses. In addition, the age limit for A2, B, BE, C1, C1E, F and G classes was set at 18. These changes make it easier for young drivers to get a driver’s license, allowing them to gain experience in traffic at an earlier age.

.
Experts note that this new regulation will encourage young people to get driver education at an earlier age.

This situation can help the development of traffic culture at an earlier age and increase traffic safety.

The fact that young drivers gain more experience in traffic can contribute to the prevention of accidents and the formation of a safer traffic environment.
