GENERAL INFORMATION FOR VISA OR E-VISA TO TURKEY FOR 1 – 90 DAYS STAY

1. The Official and Diplomatic passport holders may be visa-exempt from Visa to enter Turkey. Ordinary Passport holders require Visa to enter Turkey.

For 110 countries whose citizens by online e-Visa are allowed to enter Turkey, and valid for 30 days when the travel purpose is Tourism or Commerce (+ valid Schengen, USA, UK, Ireland visa or EU residence permit ID Card) as additional support document at arrival to Turkish airport or border.

Countries whose citizens with national ID allowed to enter Turkey, Germany, Belgium, France, Georgia, The Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Turkish Republic of North Cyprus, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Portugal, Ukraine, and Greece.

The Countries whose citizens with expired passport upto 5 years allowed to enter Turkey, Germany, Belgium, France, Spain, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Portugal, and Bulgaria.

2. For other purpose travel, such as Tourism, Education or Business, single-entry or multiple-entry sticker Visa in Passport upto 1-30 days is issued by Turkish Embassies / Consulate missions abroad.

The period of stay in Turkey by visa or visa exemption cannot exceed 90 days within a period of 180 days.
.
In case that foreigners, who have stayed in Turkey 90 days within the 180 day period, and come to Turkey again; (unless there is another matter preventing them from entering into Turkey at the border gates), they are required to enter into Turkey without a visa and fill the v.84 residence permit conditional entry form to declare and apply for residence permit id card at Migration governorate within ten (10) days of entry date.

Foreigners who have arrived at the border gates to enter into Turkey and do not have passport or travel document valid for at least 60 days as of expiration date of the Visa, Visa-exemption, Residence Permit and/or Work permit will not enter into Turkey.

The government immigration office at 81 cities in 250 districts are available nationwide, however appointment wait, process-time and ID card delivery varies, in Istanbul province is 3-4 months, Ankara is 2-3 months, and 1 month or less in Antalya and smaller population towns and resorts.

In this case, the foreigner should rent a property or house in Turkey and make Turkish bank deposit for local and economic establishment, and obtain Turkish health insurance covering the requested duration of residence stay.

Note for e-ikamet residence application in Istanbul may require extra documents as local Turkish govt hospital health report and police clearance print out from Turkish courthouse, for public health and safety in Istanbul province.

The requested duration to stay on your online application form should meet the same validity period of your documents for example upto 1 or 2 year valid; passport, financial stability in Turkey, Turkish apartment or house rental contract or tapu/deed (for a local address and establishment) and Turkish health insurance for emergency coverage at the min, for the residency throughout the foreigner stays.

Foreigners may continue to stay in Turkey at any city, till their application is concluded.

At the appointment the applicant to pay government fee with complete submitted documents may stay 90 days more at no extra charge, to collect the hard copy Residence permit ID Card from the local PTT post office.

Once collected the e-ikamet residence permit ID card has no time limit to stay inside or outside Turkey, and simply expires on the printed expiration date on back.

The procedure to submit renewal documents by mail is ended May 2019. In the new period at 81 provinces, foreigners shall submit extension application online and (be present at determined appointment date and hour) at district / provincial (Göç İdaresi) Directorates of Migration Management office, same as your home address location in Turkey.

HOW TO LODGE APPLICATION FOR SCHENGEN VISA IN TURKEY?

May I travel to Europe with Turkey residence permit ID card? The answer is no.
