PASSPORT-FREE ENTRY HAS BEGUN, BULGARIANS HAVE FLOCKED TO EDIRNE

Edirne was flooded with tourists after President Erdoğan announced that Bulgarian EU citizens could enter Turkey without a passport.

With the decision published today in the Official Gazette, the passport-free entry of Bulgarian citizens into Turkey has begun. Bulgarian tourists, hearing about the decision, flocked to Edirne on buses and in their own vehicles to make purchases.

In recent weeks, tradesmen who have been sitting empty due to the lack of Bulgarian tourists have started to return to their old days with the tourist mobility experienced after the decision. Bulgarian tourists who meet their many needs from Edirne, from food to clothing, household goods to cleaning products, thanked the President and AKP President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for removing the passport requirement.
